Workshop 1: Targets Children 3-5 years

In this workshop, we examine how parents and child care staff can assist in establishing healthy nutritional habits for children in preschool and kindergarten years.

This workshop is designed to facilitate discussions on Quality Standards 2.1 and 2.2.

Session Outcomes

At the end of the session you will learn about:

  • The importance of Breakfast
  • Food Pyramid
  • What are food additives?
  • How much fruit and vegetables to eat. (3 to 5 years of age).
  • How to read food labels in supermarkets.
  • Children's allergies.
  • Dairy and nut free foods.
  • Children's lunch boxes.
  • Foods to avoid.
  • Lifestyle, children and exercise.

Maximum group size: 30. Includes question time.
